Covid 19 information
Updated January 2022
This page gives information relating to Coronavirus precautions for guests staying at Crummockwater Cottages. The cottages and grounds of Foulsyke are well suited to facilitating social distancing measures: the properties have their own private entrances which are situated well away from each other and they each have their own separate outdoor sitting area. The car park is open with plenty of space for considerate parking. There are no interior communal areas.
Nonetheless, as with all areas of life, some changes have been necessary in order to reduce the continuing risk posed by Coronavirus.
During your stay
The information sheet below provides information on your stay, including some changes to what you can expect to find in the cottages. You will find a copy of this document in the cottages.
Risk assessment and cleaning schedule
I followed the Government Guidelines for re-opening issued on 24 June 2020, “Working safely during coronavirus: Hotels and other guest accommodation” and prepared a risk assessment based on the template provided by the Professional Association of Self Caterers. This is updated every six months. I have also used PASC’s self-catering Covid cleaning guidelines for cleaning protocols, equipment and PPE, a cleaning checklist was part of this. I have also achieved the AA COVID confident and Visit England Good to Go accreditations.
There were several changes to enable the cottages to re-open safely for everyone; guests, cleaning staff, myself. My cleaning staff are excellent and we consistently score 100% for cleanliness on our Visit England annual inspections. However, the way we now operate is different from how we worked before and this is regularly discussed with staff. We provide a signed checklist for guests to confirm the cleaning that has been done:
