The entrance to Crummock Cottage is from the courtyard and one’s eyes are immediately drawn up the open staircase to the galleried kitchen and living area above. At the mezzanine level, the well-equipped kitchen and dining area has a superb view over the courtyard towards Grasmoor. The light and airy living area is up a few more stairs, open to, but separated from the kitchen by a wooden balustrade. This comfortable area has excellent views over the garden towards Low Fell in one direction and down the Lorton valley in another.
The two bedrooms and bathroom are on the ground floor. Both bedrooms are furnished in a country style with antique pine furniture; the master bedroom has a king size brass bedstead and the second bedroom has pine twin beds. The large bathroom has a double bath with shower over.
The cottage’s outdoor sitting area with picnic table is tucked into what was once the walled sheepfold.

We’ve been holidaying in the Lakes at least once a year for decades and this is clearly the best place we have lived in. A perfect cottage backed up with fine weather and thoughtful extras such as yummy cake. Thank you!
The most perfect cottage in the most perfect scenery. Should have six stars instead of five!
