Buttermere Cottage
Buttermere Cottage was originally a former hay loft (complete with dated inscriptions of 1654 and 1827) which has been carefully converted to provide unique and private accommodation on one level. A large open plan, but cosy, room incorporates a living area looking out over the garden towards the fells, a dining area and fully equipped kitchen overlooking the courtyard. The bedroom and bathroom lead off a small hallway: the bedroom is in a pretty country style with a king size brass bedstead and antique pine furniture and the spacious bathroom includes a corner bath for two and separate shower cubicle.
The conservatory provides the perfect place to sit and have a quiet drink whilst watching the birds and red squirrels in the garden and the west facing patio area is ideal for relaxing outdoors.

This is our 10th year in Buttermere Cottage and we have enjoyed walking in our favourite places and yet still discovering new ones. Thanks Joan for all the 'little extras' and help. See you next year.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our week here again. The squirrels provided much enjoyment, especially the young one who has little fear and is we suspect rather naughty! Thanks Joan, we will return.
Another wonderful week in Loweswater. It's always a special moment to see the view over Crummock Water. Lots of great walks.
